Today we leave to Koblenz.
We get uo early, and after breakfast and shower we pack our luggage and we switch off many
electrical appliances.
When we are ready, we call Joop and Ou.
We leave at a quarter to eleven.
First we go towards Venlo, and in the neighborhood we stop for a sanitary break.
Unfortunately, there is a problem with the water pipe there, there is no water.
We search for a few bushes; and we are not the only ones.
We continue, now direction Bergheim because we don't want to drive through the Ruhr area.
Along the way we stop at a gas station, Raststaette Bedburger to eat a sandwich.
If we continue we have a problem with a road deposition, maintenance due to water damage.
It means detour via Aachen and Bonn, where it is sometimes very busy.
It costs more than half an hour extra time and about 30 extra kilometers.
At a quarter past three we are in Koblenz.
We drive to the hotel, the City Hotel Kurfürst
Balduin, where we go to the parking garage right away.
Fortunately we can get in by car.
Upon checking in we get a ticket with which we can drive out and in to the parking garage
during our entire stay.
We notice that the hotel strictly follows the Corona measures.
The rooms we have booked are small, look modern and are equipped with everything we need.
And luckily we can open the windows.
We are going to look around in the center of
Koblenz.
Fortunately, the hotel is located on the edge of the Altstadt, if we cross the street there
we are there.
It seems like a nice city.
There are beautiful old buildings, and are enough terraces and at first sight also enough
restaurants.
We walk to Deutsches Eck, where
Rhine and Moselle come together, and then back to the center, we are thirsty.
After looking around we are going to sit at
Kaffeewirtschaft.
To be able to sit down, we must complete a form in connection with Corona.
After two drinks we want some food.
Along the way we saw the Altes Brauhaus,
and we want to eat there because we hope they have eisbein there.
When we arrive there are people waiting in front of the door, we wait as well.
After fifteen minutes we get a table.
They don't do corona measures there, at least not visible.
Unfortunately there is no eisbein, but the menu is very extensive.
When the food is brought, the portions appear to be quite large.
Fortunately the food tastes very good.
At half past ten we walk back to the hotel. It is striking how quiet it is in Koblenz.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
